Rimsha 11 year old blasphemy  case: Muslim prayer leader arrested for ‘changing’ evidence

An eyewitness in case recorded a statement before the magistrate on Saturday saying Jadoon changed the evidence against Rimsha Masih by putting holly verses in ash.

Hafiz Muhammad Zubair, the eyewitness, said that during the month of Ramadan when he was observing Itekaf in the mosque, he learnt about the incident. He said that Ammad, the complainant in the case, came to the mosque and showed ashes of the Quranic verses.

“Jadoon also added some more holly pages in the ashes,” Zubair said. He added that he himself along with two more Itekaf observers protested against Jadoon’s act.

Muhammad Khalid Jadoon

Meanwhile, the religious scholar Tahir Ashrafi has demanded the President to release the accused girl and provide her security.

He also asked the Ulema to suggest punishment for Imams like Khalid Jadoon.

On Saturday, the parents of Rimsha, who is in judicial custody for 14-day, filed an application in Islamabad’s local court seeking permission to change their counsel.

Ashrafi has demanded the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Chaudhry, to take a suo moto notice of this case.
